NoSTV (Official Opposition to STV)
This is the official opposition to STV in BC. They have a lot of information
worth looking at.
Instant Runoff Voting
Instant Runoff voting is by far the closest system to the 'First-Past-The-Fixed-Post.'
The main differences that I can see are:
- Ranking candidates 1,2,3. . ., instead of a first and second choice.
- Counting procedures are not clear. In some cases only the top two candidates are left on the ballot for the second count. In other cases
only the bottom candidate is eliminated. I have problems with both
senarios.
BC-STV (Single Transferable Vote)
In many way, the BC-STV site is the most convincing reason for voting against STV. I find it very negative and confusing. Someone should count how many times the words
"They were wrong" are used.
