Welcome
If you have ever voted in an election or hope to vote someday, then this site should be of interest to you.
It explains a system of voting that fixes the existing First-Past-The-Post system of voting
that is used in many countries and electoral districts in the world.
Introduction
Keeping it simple is not stupid.
First-Past-The-Post(FPTP) has been much maligned in recent years,
to the extent that three Canadian Provinces (PEI, Ontario and British Columbia) have gone to great lengths to try and replace
it with something different. In each case the voters have rejected the change in favor of the existing FPTP system.
Two points can be made from this:
- The interest in electoral reform is real and if it hasn't come to your area yet, it will.
- In every case the choice is between the existing FPTP
system, and a completely different system.
What has not been looked at is fixing the existing FPTP
system instead of replacing it.
That is what this site is about.
